@alcestofficial has one of those sounds you recognize almost immediately, and hearing it fill @franklinmusichall was something else. They moved between gorgeous, almost dreamlike passages and absolutely massive walls of sound without ever losing what makes them distinctly Alcest. Their sound feels incredibly genuine live, like they’re not trying to fit neatly into any particular genre or be anything other than exactly what they are. #alcest

@deafheavenband brought a wild intensity to @franklinmusichall last night. The floor came alive with a solid circle pit as the set built from atmospheric stretches into huge walls of sound. There’s something about Deafheaven live that feels both beautiful and completely overwhelming at the same time. The quiet moments make the heavier ones hit that much harder, and by the end of the set the whole room felt fully locked in. A very different kind of chaos, but just as powerful.

Last night at @franklinmusichall was chaotic enough to bring a white whale to shore as @mastodonrocks took the stage to a packed house. Crowd surfers were coming over the barricade all night, the pits never stopped moving, and the energy in the room stayed high from the first song to the last of the full 2 hour long set. The addition of John Baizley, @aperfectmonster, to the touring lineup brought a new energy to the set and felt completely at home alongside everything that makes Mastodon such a force to see live. Finally made it back full circle to the first show I shot impromptu when I first visited Philly months ago and snapped some shots of the hilarious comedians at @ladylaughsphilly in @tmoms My cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing so hard and I felt called out on more than one occasion (all I’ll say is I looked at a diagram…). Finally got to see @vundabores live tonight at @uniontransfer and they were incredible. They played “Darla” and it was amazing live. I’ll be honest the majority of my photos were just me being infatuated by @dork_mcdonald ‘s insane shenanigans on the drums. One of the most animated drummers I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. Loved every minute of it.

Had such a fun time at my first @phillycreate gathering today in beautiful Philadelphia. Got to meet so many creators. Incredibly talented photographers and some of the most professional models I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Was an amazing time. Huge shoutout has to go to @virginiadidthat who helped creatively direct the majority of these shots. Absolutely recommend working with them if you need someone to spawn ideas out of thin air and help execute them in no time at all. Amazing model too! Really looking forward to the next one. There are few things that make me smile more at a show than a bassist that loves what they’re doing and shares that energy with everyone in the crowd (looking at you @andykempt). @thebandshygodwin captured that spirit at @breakfreefest and the crowd responded beautifully to it. Super high intensity performance that had the floors shaking under us. I’ve really fallen in love with this city’s music scene.

@_survivaltactics at @breakfreefest were insane and are now my new favorite band for June. Incredible energy, amazing performance, great music. Highly recommended.

The “This is (not) a celebration: queer resistance, 1976/2026” exhibit presented by @waygayarchives at @huddle215 was an eye opening event.
